On Sunday, November 1st, 2026, we shall gather at the Springhill Baptist Church to remember with great love the 39 SPRINGHILL MINERS who lost their lives as the result of an horrific explosion in the # 4 Colliery of the Springhill Mines.
It was a day marked by unimaginable heartbreak and a sense of unbearable hopelessness. Yet from the ashes of that despair Springhillers sought and found consolation and a renewed sense of purpose when friends and family wrapped them in a blanket of love and encouraged them to navigate a path through the smouldering coals of disillusionment.
Should you wish to share any memories of that time, both the tears that fell and the scattered smiles that arose from the debris in the years that followed, please feel free to do so.
