At a special meeting today (June 29, 2026) in Upper Nappan, municipal council received a report from staff that indicated the capital paving program in Springhill is under budget by about $195,000.

Council considered using these funds to completely resurface Lisgar St. in Springhill but ultimately decided to address segments of sidewalk that had required work but for which funds could not be found in the budget process earlier this year:

1) Main Street from Lorne to McKay
2) McGee Street – Leckie to Herrett
3) Clarence Street – Church to McFarlane

Council approved a reallocation of the capital budget from capital paving in Springhill to sidewalk renewal in Springhill in the amount of $180,000 and authorized the CAO to spend up $180,000 on renewing these sidewalks.
