Exercise tick safety when out and about in Nova Scotia this summer.
There are several kinds of ticks in Nova Scotia, but only the blacklegged tick can pass on the bacteria that causes tick-borne illness, such as Lyme disease.
Always do a thorough tick check of you and your loved ones after spending time outdoors, including the hairline, behind the ears, the back of the neck, armpits, elbows, around the waist, the back of the knees, and between toes.
