Gas prices increased significantly overnight in the Maritimes due to the ongoing conflict in Iran, which is starting to affect global oil supplies.
Nova Scotia
The Nova Scotia Energy Board used the interrupter clause to change the price of gasoline and diesel.
The board said the changes are “necessary due to significant shifts in the market price.”
In the Halifax-area, the price of regular self-serve gasoline increased by 8.9 cents. The minimum price is now 147.7 cents per litre.
Diesel prices increased by 7.6 cents, bringing the minimum price to 191.2 cents per litre.
In Cape Breton, the new price of regular self-serve gasoline is 149.6 cents per litre and the price of diesel is 193.2 cents per litre.
Prince Edward Island
The price of regular self-serve gasoline increased by 6.9 cents on P.E.I. The minimum price is now 154.2 cents per litre.
Diesel prices on the Island increased by 10.4 cents. The new minimum price is 203.9 cents per litre.
New Brunswick
The price of regular self-serve gasoline in New Brunswick did not change. The maximum price remains 142.0 cents per litre.
The price of diesel increased by 9.6 cents. The maximum price is now 204.3 cents per litre.
